T2B / L2R: Madness, The Beat, Specials, Selecter, Fun Boy Three & Bad Manners…….Magic music… 

At the forefront of the late 70’s ska revival, Madness went on to be one of the biggest bands of the 80’s in the UK and Europe.

The states never really understood their brand of tongue in cheek tunes but who cares? They were the business.

They were also the best disappearing act of the 80’s decade, vanishing almost without trace for no apparent reason. Maybe being ‘nutty’ all the time was hard eh?

They re-emerge from time to time at their ‘Madstock’ shows and, more recently gigging in the guise of The Dangermen playing the brand of ska they kicked off with in the late 70’s before going on to the heights with a blend of ska, reggae and a weird seaside sound to their music.

Front man Suggs is now part of the furniture deejaying at Virgin Radio - bloody good he is ‘n all.

A few ‘friends’ stop by between Madness classics including The Beat, Selector, Fun Boy Three, Specials and Bad Manners.
