Honda S2000. Buddy Club. Stiff Stuff. And Parkinsons.Since it’s birth in 1999, Honda’s version of the “little red sports-car” has become something of a cult. Although it seems your more likely to see it in bright yellow now. Anyway, the car is already a screamer packing 237hp in it’s stock form from it’s manic V-TEC engine. But unfortunately, with all that good news, there’s also bad news to go along with it, respectively. This car twitches like it has Parkinsons. If there’s one modification you’ll want to invest upon first, it should be some sort of chassis or suspension upgrade. It’s become common in almost every review of this car, everything is pretty much more than you could ask for, and then they let out the details on handling, which at this point is self explanatory. For some reason it’s always been a very wobbly car. So, how do we fix this? Make it stiffer. I recommend an upgrade to Buddy Club N Plus Coilovers. Buddy Club has become notorious over the last decade for their quality aftermarket products, especially for Honda’s. The best part about these coilovers is that they’re fully adjustable monotube style. They’re stiff enough for track use, yet on the street you won’t end up going to the chiropractor, just by setting the ride height. This is a good kit to start with, however you’ll also need strut braces and other stiffening as well. Overall, it’s a well worth kit for the money at $890 to start, and $1180 for a complete set with upper pillow ball mounts. Some stiff photos are coming soon. Author: hotwings
