RAMPART = a defensive fortification, specifically, a mound of earth topped by a wall

Synonyms: fortification, barrier, embankment, wall

Antonyms: opening, passage

TAWDRY = 1. gaudy and cheap in quality; 2. mean-spirited and lacking in human decency.
