SOCCER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! here at Falatalk.com  While in Brazil, I was able to see a soccer game, as part of the Copa Sulamericana 2007.  Jeffer and I went absolutely crazy during the game. Welcome back to Falatalk.  Today we have a visitor, Stella, from Brazil.  During her stay here in Orlando, she will describe our home for all of us, in Brazilian Portuguese. First, we welcome her to the show.

After getting off the boat, we made our way to the subway of Rio… Hey, I didn’t even knew that they had a subway!!!!!!  But, to my surprise, they had a very sophisticated one, indeed.  We choose either north or south, norte o sul…

After getting off the bus, we take a walk down to the ferry system that Rio-Niteroi has. Diana Larsent makes this trip all the time, and shows me how easy it is to catch a boat to Rio.

Diana Larsent and I take a fun trip to downtown RIO, and we figure to take the long way. First by bus, then by boat, then by train!!! Here’s the first set, where we take the bus. You will see a nice surprise in the end. Enjoy.

keeping a word readily available for use in a conversation can be really helpful.  We’ll look at the word “muito” and a couple of examples for future use.

Like most restaurants in Brazil, people pay by the kilo. In this case, Jeffer and I go to get sushi! Most places are cheap, with only 10 to 15 reals per kilo.  This place, called “Oishi” was charging $50 reals per kilo. That is expensive sushi!!!

Welcome back to falatalk. Today, I miss Brazil. I want to go back. And I miss my friends that I’ve met there. When you miss someone very much, you want to let the person know about it. Dealing with love, and missing someone can be very hard to communicate in another language. Here’s a couple tips on how to make that conversation easier between your loved one who’s far away.

In downtown Belo Horizonte, there is a central market where you can get anything…..literally.  Take a quick journey with the crew as we look for someone to sharpen our knives, for live chickens, a fish bowl, and a pound of cheese. (Don’t ask me what kind, I have NO idea)

We went everywhere one night, stopping by nightclubs, stripclubs, bars, and finally came to a night restaurant, selling different types of pastries.  Yet these were not the typical cream filled donut.  There were like HotPockets, with cheese, chicken, rice, whatever you wanted inside, they had.  Delicious.

There are different types of fuel to power vehicles in Brasil.  We go over the different types, and gas prices.  Is it more cost effective to have a car there? Or here? Find out with Diana Larsent, our gas station guide.

Giving directions to a taxi driver can be very difficult if you don’t know the basics, so here are the basics, to help you out a little bit.

Continuing with the slang side of Falatalk, I would love to introduce the first bad phrase.

There are several different ways to play pool, as I found out at a bar.  When playing pool in BH, notice the difference, and have fun!!!!

Açaí is becoming a fad in southern Brazil where it’s eaten as “açaí na tigela,” which means açaí in a bowl.  So we here at Falatalk set out to find some cool food, or as you know now, some bacana food….. hehehe. enjoy.
