The Penn Treaty Museum celebrates the 1682 Treaty of Friendship made between the original stewards of the land and William Penn under the branches of an Elm Tree at Shackamaxon.
The museum, a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2007, preserves the story of the Treaty of Friendship through art, artifacts and research. The Museum is located at 900 East Columbia Avenue (across from Penn Treaty Park) and is open to the public on Thursdays (12-4) and Saturdays (11-3) We Love Philly will be volunteering this Saturday at Penn Treaty Park to celebrate Indigenous People's Day from 11 AM to 5 PM. Come out and celebrate with us !
