We bring writer, critic, interviewer, and millenial-hater Sean Kilpatrick on the show to talk about Toshiada Toyoda's 2011 tone poem Monsters Club. It's about a rich poet who moves to a cabin in the woods to build and send mail bombs.
Suicide, Kaczynski, hating nature, hating people more...this episode is a misanthrope's dream!
Kelby really knocked it out of the park on the audio this time. There's this great thunderstorm going on in the background. I can fall asleep to those sounds like nobody's business. Truthfully, I can fall asleep to almost anything at any time, unless I'm on my back. Then I feel like I'm falling, and I think back to when Jung used to do his journeying, and he described falling backwards into a black abyss, and I snap out of it. I'm not ready to see rivers of blood or enormous dicks crushing cathedrals. And yet the dreamworld calls to me, beckons me to give it life in this world. I'll figure it out.
