In 2011 Phil opened his shop in Normandy Beach, NJ but after Hurricane Sandy and all the destruction it wrought, Phil made a move to the emerging scene in Asbury Park. He and his team are carving out an exclusive niche for themselves in New Jersey, through the offerings of his shop and the unconventional surf crafts he purveys. We discuss what it’s like running a surf shop in the time of Covid, the changes to the market, his history and connection to New Jersey Surfing and running one of the best glass houses in the Northeast.
