S03E08: The One Where We Can’t Ignore The Fingernail

KJ and Meredith are hosting a slightly emotionally damaging holiday party with Jordan and Jeremy (Monster of the Week and Still His Kingdom Keeps). Small Sam and Dean are being neglected by John (big surprise), and Adult Sam and Dean are facing down their last Christmas together. Our monsters this week are frighteningly polite but that doesn’t stop them from trying to eat our favorite monster hunters. Jeremy shares some old MOTW notes, Meredith shares some history of the word pagan, and the group discusses the brain damage the Winchesters have caused themselves drinking and being knocked out over the years.

CW Episode Description: It's Christmas time and Sam and Dean investigate a series of murders where the victims were pulled up through the chimney. Sam realizes they are dealing with a sort of Anti-Santa, a demon with roots in pagan lore. Dean wants to celebrate Christmas the old fashioned way as this is his last, but Sam refuses, not wanting to accept that Dean won't be around next year. Sam flashes back to a certain Christmas when he waited for his father to come home to give him a special gift.
