Gene Simmons of Kiss and Nick Simmons

The first part of the show, Scott sits with Nick Simmons to talk about his childhood growing up on TV in a rock-n-roll family. Kiss bassist and vocalist Gene Simmons enters a bit later to talk about Israel, his family genealogy, and buying clown makeup at Woolworth in the early days of Kiss. Nick recollects stories about Queen’s Brian May, Bob Dylan and Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page. Gene also discusses his new book, 27: The Legend and Mythology of the 27 Club, about the group of famous musicians, artists and actors who died at age 27. They chat about Kiss’s upcoming End of the Road Tour, 2019, Gene’s biggest inspirations, and the Ringo Starr story. They close out the conversation speaking about The Vault Box Set of Gene’s solo work and the meaning of charisma.
