QMS Director of Economics Services, Stuart Ashworth is joined by Niall Jeffrey, a beef and arable farmer at Bielgrange Farm. Niall was Agriscot Scottish Beef Farmer of the Year in 2018 and has been benchmarking for 13 years. Benchmarking has driven efficiency in his operation and provided confidence to grow his business. Fertility and calf survival to weaning are among the measurable traits that are key to the success of Niall's suckler cow enterprise, representative of many Scottish suckler producers.
