During the 1980's Australians took the TV show A Country Practice to their hearts. Wandin Valley had it's local cop in the shape of Sgt. Frank Gilroy played by Brian Wenzel. Well in Port Douglas we have our own version of that fair dinkum country policeman in Sgt. Damian Meadows and like his TV counterpart he has a great love for his patch and the people who live in it. A man who works closely with the community and provides policing at a grass roots level. His journey to get to Port as it's 'Top Cop' is a very interesting one.
