One Thing: Necessary | Sunday Sermon

The message teaches that the “one thing necessary” is not merely serving Christ but cultivating an intimate relationship with Him through His presence, Word, and fellowship. Using the story of Martha and Mary, it shows that while both service and devotion are valuable, service must flow from a heart that is first anchored in Christ rather than driven by performance, anxiety, or comparison. Martha’s distraction revealed a misplaced focus on activity, while Mary chose the better portion by sitting at Jesus’ feet and listening to Him. Ultimately, the lesson calls believers to surrender every area of their lives to Christ, prioritize communion with Him above all else, and find rest in His grace rather than striving to earn His approval.
