Why Am I Here?

“It’s a special recipe that my mother-in-law left me. Can I make some for you?” I remember the day we met another two South African couples at church and we all decided to have a potluck dinner together. I knew that my mom-in-law’s ‘malvapoeding’ is delicious and that they would be excited to have a reminder of home. I excitedly took out the handwritten recipe and felt so grateful to be able to carry on the baking tradition she left for me. Needless to say – it was a hit! And that’s when the tradition began…

I excitedly took out the handwritten recipe and felt so grateful to be able to carry on the baking tradition she left for me.

Needless to say – it was a hit!

And that’s when the tradition began…

Today I made another malvapoeding to celebrate our friend’s graduation as a Doctor, and I got a glimpse of an answer to the question, “why am I here?”

When we take what God has put in our hands and we intentionally bless others with it, I reckon we’re fulfilling a part of the purpose we’re here on Earth for. It’s the thing that only you and God can do, in the situation you find yourself in.

All it takes is asking Jesus how to partner with Him, and then going on an adventure with Him, today!
