This week we went to see The Black Phone, starring Ethan Hawke and directed by Scott Derrickson, based on a Joe Hill short story (from the collection 20th Century Ghosts, if anyone wants to check it out.) Remember that scene in Jumanji when Robin Williams' legs can be seen sticking out of the ceiling from the floor below? That's what happened to Jonny as a result of the jump scares in The Black Phone. We also get a bit serious about stuff. I know, it's completely off brand and complaints can be posted in the complaints box...

Remember that scene in Jumanji when Robin Williams' legs can be seen sticking out of the ceiling from the floor below? That's what happened to Jonny as a result of the jump scares in The Black Phone.

We also get a bit serious about stuff. I know, it's completely off brand and complaints can be posted in the complaints box. It's the big bowl filled with water in that small room over there.

Seriously though, TRIGGER WARNING as we talk a bit about physical abuse of children, which this movie deals with quite a bit.
