Two followers of Jesus were walking in sorrow, confusion, and disappointment after His crucifixion. They knew the events that had happened, but they didn’t see what was right in front of them—Jesus Himself.

Sometimes, we walk our own “Emmaus road”—days when we’re weighed down by unanswered questions, unmet expectations, or seasons of deep discouragement. And like the disciples, we may not recognize that Jesus is walking right beside us.

But here’s the beauty of this story: Jesus drew near. He listened. He taught. He broke bread. And when He did, their eyes were opened. The very presence of Jesus turned confusion into clarity, and sorrow into burning passion.
