Ready to make a change, but you just aren't sure where to begin? My guest today suggest you start with yourself. With all the negativity in the world it is easy to fall into the same rut as everyone else. It can lead to hopelessness and despair. You have a choice though. You can choose to focus on the positive you can choose to be the light in a dark place.
If you want to change your situation, or the world around you, you have to do the work yourself. You were put on this earth for a purpose. In order to have a positive impact there are a few steps you will have to take.
My guest today business and family man Carey Digsby shares with us how being positive is a choice and change requires work.
About Carey Digsby
Carey Digsby embodies versatility in several facets of his life. An accomplished Magazine Publisher, Author, Businessman and Family man just to name a few of his many talents. Carey has led life with the belief that “There’s a wonderful light out there, and we can accomplish so much if we believe in it”. That light has guided Carey in his multiple successes in life and continues to open doors of opportunity.
Carey’s talents aren’t focused solely in a singular area of life, nor are his successes. His desire to be creative is evident in all his endeavors. After working in the corporate sector, Carey’s affinity for the arts manifested itself in the form of his highly recognized Urban Tymes Magazine which launched in 2008. Urban Tymes is now one of the most popular and diverse source of positive media, gaining widespread attention. Its cultural friendly flare earned it the honor of being named Best Publication for the 2016 Queen City Awards.
Recently, he and Demario McElwain of JDS partnered and created another sensational publication: Musiek Magazine, which features Indie artists and the culture that supports them!
Beyond the magazines, Carey turned to a new chapter in life and penned two books: “This Tree Can Bear Fruit” and “It Starts With a Seed”. Both consisting of poems, positive quotes and scripture tied together with his life experiences from working closely within the community. The books captures various areas in life anyone can relate to giving voice and vision to its readers. Carey continuously cultivates his passion for leadership and community spending free time mentoring youth and being a motivational speaker, with weekly posts dubbed via his writing moniker: #cwspeaks .
His wife Renee and three sons Carey III, Marquis, and Kierian, are all jewels in his crown of dedication. His role as not only a husband, Father, Entrepreneur, and Community Leader shows all, Carey isn’t afraid of takings risks, confronting issues and working hard to be successful. He strongly believes that we do not live in just the negatives or in the dark, but that we should encourage and help each other. An Author, Businessman, Community Leader & Family man; Carey Digsby lets his light shine and wants everyone else’s to shine just as bright.
