MEPs will decide today on new targets for cutting greenhouse-gas emissions from trucks and buses.
A draft report from the Environment Committee recommends slashing CO2 emissions by 30 per cent for new lorries by 2030.
An intermediate target of 20 per cent by 2025 is also proposed.
Manufacturers will also have to ensure zero and low-emission vehicles represent a 20 per cent market share of sales by 2030.
