Three— House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she believes a federal mandate on mask wearing is "long overdue". Meanwhile, the city of Jacksonville, the new site of the Republican National Convention, is now requiring face masks in public and indoor locations
Two— Chief Justice John Roberts sided with the liberal justices on the Supreme Court on Monday to block a Louisiana abortion law. The 5-4 ruling is a win for supporters of abortion rights. The law barred doctors from performing the procedure unless they had admitting privileges at a nearby hospital.
And number one— Even a New York Times columnist is urging government to treat re-opening schools for in-person learning in the fall. We'll disagree with her on the remedy, I think, but the point remains .... students should be back in class for the coming year.
