Homily 12/8/19 There shall come forth a shoot / Plan B People -- Advent II (Isaiah 11:1-11)

There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse (Isaiah 11:1).  

The 'trees' we cultivate in life--that is, our expectations and plans--are all-too-often reduced to mere stumps.  Isaiah said a shoot shall come forth from the stump of Jesse.  We can celebrate the 'stump' because the shoot -- the Plan B of God -- is more beautiful that what we had before.
