Our first guest is Dr. Blaine Winters, a nursing professor and regional nurse leader for the Utah/Nevada Region. The Red Cross is always looking for individuals to support their organization. Dr. Winters discusses the need for students or recent graduates to volunteer with relief opportunities you can be involved in both in your hometown and across the country. He is joined by Hannah Kaplin, a third-semester nursing student at BYU that shares her interest in a psychology minor. With just 19-hours of required credits, a psychology minor pairs nicely with nursing education. Kaplin explains ways her additional classes have benefited her in healthcare settings and with patient care.
The College of Nursing at Brigham Young University presents nursing careers and professional insight to undergraduate students. This is the seventh in The College Handoff series and was recorded in September of 2020.
