US higher on strong jobs, ASX near 5month highs, T+2 starts today.

US sharemarkets rose on Friday. The jobs report showed the US economy was in good shape but the fall in wages suggested that the Federal Reserve will take its time in lifting interest rates. The Dow Jones rose by almost 63 points or 0.4% with the S&P 500 index up by 0.3%, while the Nasdaq almost 10 points or 0.2%. For the week, the Dow gained 2.2%, the S&P rose 2.7% and the Nasdaq lifted 2.8%.
