School Dazed: Help For Moms and Dads of School-Aged Kids
Kids & Family:Education for Kids
Did you and your family get 8-10 hours of sleep last night (I didn’t either 😕)? We live in a society where lack of sleep is a badge of honor and a sign of dedication, but this episode may make you rethink your late-to-bed routine.
Sleep hygiene or sleep health is a variety of different practices and habits that are necessary to have good nighttime sleep quality. Lack of sleep can effect children academically by causing impaired cognitive functioning, impaired attention, symptoms of depression, and memory loss. It can also cause serious health problems and weight gain!
In this episode we spoke with Emily Benning, a licensed professional counselor and expert in sleep health. She gave us tips for developing healthy sleep habits that will impact your entire family.
