The St. Antonino Church, situated in the current Piazza Liberta, has a medieval foundation. In fact, it dates back to the year 1300, but you should know that it was destroyed along with the monastery complex it was built in, during conflicts between the nobles of the Latin party and the nobles of the Catalan party – conflicts that ravaged Sicily far and wide during that period.
