The Christ of Christmas; Prince of Peace

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6-7

 

Peace. The longing of every heart. Every time I read the story of Jesus' birth in Luke two, the angel's song resonates with me: "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!" Now, I don't know about you, but our world could definitely use some peace. In fact, angry, turbulent, sinful human hearts cause all sorts of chaos. And that's why Jesus was born—to heal broken, sinful hearts. The Prince of Peace came to bring forgiveness for sins and peace to human hearts. He offers eternal life to all who would put their trust in Him alone.
