The presentation takes us to Ukraine in the middle of ongoing war conflict where millions of displaced people face great risks of being exploited or trafficked. Activities of the State Labour Service of Ukraine to lower these risks are summarized – online information provision, information campaigns and counselling services for individuals and relocated enterprises. The presentation explains also other ways to protect employees in and outside Ukraine and which other authorities are engaged in it. It also highlights a need for international cooperation with EU Member States and other countries to fight trafficking in human beings and undeclared work.
This presentation was part of the EMN Slovakia’s National Conference entitled Dignified Labour Conditions as a Tool to Fight Modern Slavery which took place in Bratislava on 1 December 2022. The Conference was organised by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) as the coordinator of the EMN National Contact Point for the Slovak Republic. The EMN is funded by the European Union and co-funded by the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic.
