This episode touches on what I believe to be one of the most critical issues in men's mental health. Instability with emotional regulation and anger can often get ugly when left untreated and much of domestic abuse and public acts of violence (sometimes extreme) are deeply rooted in the wounded masculine. How can we begin to regulate our emotions better and move from more of a reactive/triggered state to a more proactive mindset? This is literally a matter of life and death.
If you are a victim or a perpetrator of violent outbursts or extreme bouts of moodiness due to lack of emotional regulation, speak to someone and seek help immediately. It's the noble thing to do. As men we need to protect those around us even if it means protecting them from ourselves.
