This book to movie adaptation was a wild wide for us. Starring Keira Knightly, James McAvoy and Saoirse Ronan, we took two very different stances in this recap- was Briony a confused child, filling in gaps based on limited knowledge while trying to do the right thing? Or was Briony a little psychopath who got mad that her crush was smashing her sister, so she ruined his life? Regardless of the reason, we agreed on one thing- there is no excuse for that ending and we will be writing a letter.
