US Close 5 Jan 16: late rally cut DOW losses to 276pts, China & Saudi concerns hit market. Eyes on Dick Smith on ASX.

US sharemarkets fell on Monday as investors reacted to the same concerns as investors in Europe: weaker Chinese economic data, Middle East tensions and a slump in the Chinese sharemarket. After being down 467 points, the Dow Jones index closed down by 276 points
