The Christ of Christmas; A Righteous and Just King

"The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land." - Jeremiah 23:5-6

 

When we picture Jesus as a baby, wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger, perhaps our first thought of Him is not as a powerful and victorious King, Who reigns forever and ever. Jesus is this mighty King will do what is just and right in the land by making every creature give an account of what they’ve done and demanding justice for every evil thought and deed. The reason He came to this earth as a baby was to live a perfect life. And then Jesus who knew no sin took our sin upon Himself and paid the penalty for it on the cross. And now, all who place their trust in Him can have a relationship with God.
