Christians are at it again—or at least, that’s what Stranger Things wants you to believe. Rage-bait, gaslighting, and the Satanic Panic are all served up with a side of nostalgia.Nothing says “original storytelling” like recycling the Satanic Panic and pretending that believers are the real villains—while the show literally features demons, portals to hell, telekinetic children, and, of course, super-powered coming-out scenes. Sure, we’re the crazy ones.The recent uproar from fans arose when a beloved character, Will, comes out of the closet and is welcomed by his friends and his mother, played by Winona Ryder—which is quite interesting, as she was not only the first actor cast for the show but is also the goddaughter of Crowleyite drug guru Timothy Leary. This one is going to get us into some stranger things.
