Social Proof is not new. Robert Cialdini coined the phrase "social proof," meaning the psychological phenomenon that describes our tendency to rely on the opinions or actions of others to inform our own, in 1984. However, as our world has become increasingly dependent upon access to instant information online, the reliance upon social proof in the form of ratings, testimonials and feedback, has increased substantially. In fact, more than 84% of people trust online reviews as much as word of mouth from family and friends.
So how can you as a professional, leverage social proof to get yourself more clients? Turns out it's fairly low hanging fruit with a little to no actual cost involved!
