Nakshatra is the Indian name that generally describes each of 27 segments used to divide the ecliptic by Indic astrologers and correlating to the Moon's daily journey. They are therefore more detailed that the 12 zodiac signs and are believed to have a significant impact on a person's character, life events, and auspicious timings for rituals.
