Jason Wingard sits down for a chat with Giles Alderson about his latest feature film Eaten by Lions.
He chats going from shorts and winning short film festivals like Virgin Media shorts and making more films from the prize money.
Then went onto make his debut feature In Another Life set in the Calais jungle while he waited for his other feature to happen . During this time he went out and learnt how to raise money and how to make a film from the ground up.
We discuss how he used his writing / directing fee from Eaten by Lions to finance his debut feature In Another Life. How he shots in the Calais jungle and recreated a set in Warrington to match. We discuss how it’s a privilege to make a film but you have to make sure your script is good enough and pay for script analysis to make it so.
How you should understand the finance process and how investors can make their money back. Having a one pager as well as full pack for your project and that the best people in the film industry have nothing to prove
How to make a road trip movie and working with actors on set and good techniques to do this .
Dealing with reviews and how filmmaking is like a Juggernaut.ONCE IT'S GOING It keeps rolling,
