Ep 197 [03 December 2025]: Shaun Rowark, Associate Director for Healthcare Data Analytics at the UK's National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) – We dove into the UK's healthcare data revolution, with insights on Secure Data Environments (SDEs) and the more recent Health Data Research Service (HDRS). We explored other initiatives such as the Federated Data Platform, Single Patient Record and the NHS App, while examining Europe's parallel Health Data Space. We also discussed NICE's pioneering use of real-world data in medicines evaluation, as well as using data for guideline development and implementation.
