DUP MEP Diane Dodds has echoed her party leader’s view that these are worrying times, as the British and Irish governments consider a draft Brexit Withdrawal Agreement.
The document is understood to propose a UK wide backstop proposal aimed at ensuring no return of a hard border in Ireland. However, there are likely to be Northern Ireland specific proposals.
If the British Prime Minister Theresa May can secure backing for the plan, it could pave the way for an EU leaders summit later this month.
