Heshy Tischler, known since his yeshiva days as Uncle Heshy — or just “The Big H” — is a community icon and South Brooklynite for his entire life. He is married for over 30 years to his wife, Linda, and has raised three sons in the South Brooklyn community. He is now the proud zeidy of one grandchild. Heshy is known throughout the neighborhood as host of the Just Enough Heshy Show. Because hey — it’s never enough but it may be just enough. Heshy’s long experience working with city government on behalf of people has given him a unique perspective on what has to be strengthened and what should be changed — or dropped entirely. Heshy rose to national prominence when he restored ownership of New York City’s parks to its citizens. He will therefore be looking into reorganizing the Parks Department — there is too much bureaucracy there and not enough action for residents of the five boroughs.
