My former boss Matt Brown will be joining me tonight for Monday Night Therapy.
Matt Brown is the founder of Extra Points, a newsletter that talks about the college part of college sports. He is the most knowledgeable person on the entire planet about EA Sports College Football, the video game, outside of those who work for EA Sports.
We will be discussing EA Sports COLLEGE FOOTBALL!
Matt Brown has also been following the House versus NCAA case, and there is talk of a negotiated settlement coming up that will compensate, as part of the settlement, will compensate college athletes.
It is expected that this will cost sizable athletic departments that wish to participate between $17 and $22 million a year, according to Ross Dellenger in a published article on Yahoo Sports a few days ago.
Big schools like Nebraska - land grant institutions, members of the Big Ten and SEC are going to be able to afford the provisions in this settlement. Matt and I will discuss what the potential settlement means for college sports in the not too distant future.
What’s gonna happen to all the Division II and Division III schools, or even the group of five schools that can’t afford to just pump out $20 million to pay their athletes?
What will happen to Olympic sports across the board?

This week on the the show, it’s a mild audible. Our intent was to have the one and only Hoss Reuter on the show to break down the Nebraska Spring Game. But Hoss has been under the weather this week so we are putting a pin in his input until next week.
We will have our own review of the Red/White game in which the White Squad won 25-21. The format of the game was different than in years past which provided a fresh viewing experience.
And while the Nebraska baseball team was swept in its season series Tuesday night against Creighton, Jackson Brockett put the squad on his back for Nebraska’s first complete-game no-hitter since the Eisenhower administration en route to an 8-0 win over Kansas State.

No description given. But I assure you...Nebraska Cornhusker softball is discussed.

This week on the Five Heart Podcast, Greg and Minnie will prepare you for the annual Red White Game this Saturday in Lincoln.
What are we looking for from the game? Will the running backs pass protect? How will the wide receivers look in press coverage? Who will stand out on the offensive line and will Danny Dimes be crowned the starting QB before or after halftime?
And that’s just on the offensive side of the ball.
Speaking of, which side of the ball do you “root for” in the Spring Game? Do you want to see the offense light it up or does that give you doubts about the defense? Do you want the defense to be dynamic and shut down the offense or does that make you lose confidence in that side of the ball? No wrong answers, just curious.
It’s the night of the NFL Draft, so we will take a few minutes to visit with Corn Nation’s Brian Johannes to discuss the possibility of any Huskers being drafted, or where the rumors indicate they may fall in the undrafted free agent market.
We’ll hit some news and notes from around college sports, including but not limited to some football and basketball transfer portal acquisitions and the roller coasters that are Colorado’s football roster and Reggie Bush’s Heisman Trophy journey.

Join us on Corn Nation’s You Tube channel tonight for Husker Heat as we review a disappointing weekend in Ann Arbor, talk a little Iowa doubleheader as that will likely be winding up during the show and look ahead to this weekend where things don’t get any easier.
Northwestern currently sits a 1⁄2 game in front of Michigan for 1st place in the Big 10, a spot they’ve occupied for most of the last few years. We’ll let you know who to watch out for.

Mitch Sherman of The Athletic will join me tonight.
There is a lot to ask of Mr. Sherman. He’s been places. He’s seen things.
Like Nebraska football practice. Dylan Raiola and Danny Kaelin in action, one presumes.
I think the number one question I want to ask him is, disregarding the players, what do you think is the biggest difference between last year and this year that you’ve seen and the little bit that you’ve had of being around the team?
He has to talk a little bit about Dylan Raiola and the quarterbacks. Obviously the biggest thing is the quarterbacks.
Matt Rule, in his role as a CEO type coach, what is he like at practice? Does he really let the coaches coach the players? Does he intervene like a benevolent dictator? Or does he watch from afar?
Is that the kind of coach Matt Rule is? Is he really hands-on? Is he hands-on with his assistants? How does he lead?

This week on the show, the Panel discusses the wide receiver room.
Jaylen Lloyd. Malachi Coleman. Alex Bullock. Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda. Jahmal Banks.
While there’s a fair amount of depth behind this quintet, there’s not a lot of experience. So who steps up? Who is ready to go?
Nebraska returns over 75% of production from last year. How does that fit in with Matt Rhule’s philosophy?
Two Big Ten schools had their spring games this past weekend. What took place in Columbus and West Lafayette? How many people attended? Does spring game attendance matter?
And finally, RedditCFB came across the “leaked” super league proposed for college football? What does that look like and is it likely to take place?

Producer's Note: I have no idea how this one slipped through the cracks unless I was just too distracted by work. So this is a make-good from a couple weeks ago. My apologies to Andy, Mylie, and all the fans. - GM

This week we’ll dive into the sweep of Wisconsin where Syd Gray arguably did enough to win her 3rd B1G Player of the Week award and Kaylin Kinney battled her way to her best weekend of the season.
We’ll also preview the upcoming Penn State series and let that slide into a Path to the Dance segment in which we get into the metrics and what the Huskers need to do to avoid the only option into the NCAA’s being to win the conference tourney.
Click below to join the show and please add any comments or questions and we’ll do our best to address them. Or at least better than last week - sorry about that.

Last week, Iowa lost the national title in the women’s basketball game to South Carolina.
At that time, I had tweeted out toward the end of the game, “Iowa will not win another national title,” and it started a bit of an argument on Twitter with some Iowa fans who I had trolled, and who started talking about their national titles and how they have more, because Iowa has 24 national titles in wrestling.
That’s a lot of titles, but it’s the only sport they’d ever won a national title in.
One of the responses was that Iowa has five national titles in football, to which I went, “What the hell is that about?” Because they don’t have five national titles in football. They claim five national titles in football.
At the same time, one of the other accounts on Twitter tweeted out a list of national titles held by people in football, and of course, Alabama claims 18 national titles and Michigan claims 11.
Nebraska has won five national titles. Could we claim more?
Particularly the 1915 national title.
We could, and that’s the subject of tonight’s show.
