Forget grinding all your birds into summer sausage, or roasting them ZZZZzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!, or worst of all -- smothering them in Cream of Something Soup.  Veteran wildfowler and McNeese State professor Mark Merchant shows us how to turn ordinary ingredients and various waterfowl into delicious main courses that even your wife or SigOther will like. Everything from Pan Seared Duck Steaks to Bahn Mi Sandwiches to Teal Picatta.
Plus -- check out Foxy's first stint of introducing a pod segment, with episode theme music sample by none other than Doug Kershaw, the Ragin' Cajun himself!  Both Doug and Foxy sound GREAT.  Sponsors are WYATT"S WATERFOWL CO., DUCK HUNTIN' MAGAZINE and MIDNITE PIZZA

It's almost universal.  Waterfowl hunters are inventors, tinkerers, reverse engineer-ers.  And lots of us walk around with the blueprints for a great new or improved product safely tucked away ... in our heads!  "One of these days, I'm gonna..." is our slogan.
There's a pair of huntin' buddies in Oregon who've taken ideas and are turning them into reality, and we want you to hear a very short story about them and their latest invention.
If you hunt ducks that peeep, whistle, hummm or trill, as well as the ones that quack,  be ready to hit the web to order what our guests today have come up with.

Waterfowler and career professional conservationist Jeff has over 100 wood duck boxes under his supervision, and in this interview he shares the how's and why's of providing nest boxes for woodies, hooded mergansers and other critters that rely on tree branch cavities for raising their young'uns.
Included are several key points and tips about this conservation-oriented hobby, including how to Photograph a rare moment in the outdoors: the instant tiny woodrows leap into the air HALO style to join Mom on their way to brooding habitat! A great talk by a man with nearly 30 years' experience in helping wood ducks raise the Next Generation.
Special thanks to WI. DNR Wildlife Educator Liz Herzmann and the Horicon Marsh educational visitors center for arranging Jeff's presentation on 870 The Flyway.
