EP 080: The experience of grief on a fertility journey with Nicola Duffell
Thursday Jan 26, 2023
Thursday Jan 26, 2023
NEWS FLASH!! The Budget Friendly Fertility Bundle is on sale now and until 1st February. Check it out here: www.fertilemindset.com/bundle
This podcast is the last episode in this current series of conversations with some really lovely guests. I’ve enjoyed recording these for you, and I’ve gained and learned a lot myself from each and every one.
Today’s is particularly special as Nicola is someone I have known for a very long time. We first met over 30 years ago when we were in the same class at school. Then we were at college together on the same course. And then years later we got back in touch through the magic of social media, Nicola was retraining in nutrition and coaching, and transitioning away from a corporate role and into the work, she is truly meant to be doing. Nicola has an affinity with the experience of grief, drawing on her own losses and bringing in all her skills to support this inevitable part of the human experience.
Grief is something that is rarely talked about in relation to fertility and infertility, and I believe we need to talk about it, acknowledge it and bring it out into the open. So that’s what Nicola and I did in this episode and I hope it brings you a deeper understanding of how you may be feeling, and some comfort too.
Here’s what is included in this episode:
- The myriad of emotions related to grief, and how giving yourself permission to feel them is a gift.
- The many layers of grief related to infertility and pregnancy loss.
- How we may experience suspended grief, and initiations of the soul through acceptance.
- The important role of community when we are grieving.

EP 079: The powerful combination of Fertility Yoga and EFT with Jen Edmonds
Thursday Jan 19, 2023
Thursday Jan 19, 2023
In this episode, I’m sharing a conversation with Jen Edmonds. I first got to know Jen when she was on her own fertility journey. She was a Fertile Mindset client and used EFT / Tapping with me to support her through her emotional challenges. Jen said that EFT blew her mind with how effective it was, which was also her experience of discovering Fertility Yoga. Since then, and since Jen has happily had her two children, she now supports others on a fertility journey with her unique approach to Fertility Yoga. Jen says that Fertility Yoga is so much more than the work you do on the mat.
I hope you enjoy listening to this conversation with Jen, and I’m delighted to share with you that Jen is a contributor to my soon to be released Budget Friendly Fertility Bundle, which is a fabulous bundle of resources that will be on sale next week. Jen’s online fertility yoga program is included, along with lots of other support for every aspect of your fertility. It’s not on sale yet, but I’ll be sharing on Facebook and Instagram when it is, and I’ll add the link below when it’s on sale too. We’re receiving new contributions every day from some of the most knowledgeable and empathic people in the fertility world, so make sure you check out the Budget Friendly Fertility Bundle next week.
Here’s what is included in this episode:
- Jen’s own fertility story and how it led to EFT and fertility yoga.
- How yoga gave her back her power.
- What an ‘everyday’ fertility yoga practice can look like and her secret to sticking to it.
- How to use yoga and EFT (tapping) together successfully!

EP 078: The stress and fertility link with Kristin Cornett
Thursday Jan 12, 2023
Thursday Jan 12, 2023
This episode with Kristin, who is a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and neural retraining specialist, was fascinating and we did a deep dive into the impact of stress on health and wellness, including fertility health. Kristin focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of illness and infertility and supports the body’s natural ability to achieve healing and balance when provided the right conditions. With advanced training in functional lab testing and interpretation, nutritional counselling, and mind-body therapies, Kristin provides a whole person approach to health and fertility which you are going to hear about in this episode. I love that at the end Kristin includes lots of practical ideas on how to rewire the brain and body’s stress response, and one I was very happy to hear her recommend is EFT. You can learn more about this amazing technique by listening to episode 20 here. On that episode, you’ll hear me say that the doors to my membership the Fertile Mindset Sanctuary are closing, but the good news is that it is now always open to new members. So if after listening and learning about how helpful EFT can be for emotional support and healing you’d like to join us, then you can do that right now at www.fertilemindset.com/sanctuary
Now let’s get on to today’s episode to hear Kristin talk about the Stress and Fertility Link.
Here’s what is included in this episode:
- How Kristin’s passion for children’s health led her to focus on preconception care and fertility.
- That stress is an underrated area of health and wellness, and what happens to the nervous system which can impact on fertility.
- The power of psychoneuroimmunology and the “cell danger response” and what we can learn from it.
- The strategies that Kristin uses and recommends to her clients to improve vagal tone, rewire the brain to reduce stress, and more!

EP 077: EFT Tapping and its role in fertility support with Emma Roberts
Thursday Jan 05, 2023
Thursday Jan 05, 2023
On this first podcast of 2023 I’m speaking with EFT Master and co-founder of the EFT Centre in London, Emma Roberts. Almost 20 years ago when I was a newly qualified EFT practitioner, Emma’s own specialism in fertility support was a key part of my education and exploration into this topic. In fact, attending a training session on Fertility EFT led by Emma was a pivotal moment for me in specialising in fertility for the last two decades. It was wonderful to talk more with Emma about what a powerful technique EFT is and the many ways it can make a positive difference when facing fertility issues or any other challenging moments in life.
Here’s what is included in this episode:
- The phobia that Emma and her partner Sue witnessed being removed by tapping led them both to EFT and eventually becoming EFT Masters.
- How and why tapping works to calm the nervous system, and why it integrates so well with western medicine.
- Why Emma is also passionate about using EFT for cancer and other serious diseases, and the parallels she sees to fertility.
- How using visualisation alongside tapping can help uncover and resolve negative beliefs.

EP 076: Why mindset is more important than happiness with Emily Ginn
Thursday Dec 15, 2022
Thursday Dec 15, 2022
This episode features the lovely Emily Ginn who I got to know a couple of years ago when the Clubhouse live chat app was launched. In the fertility support chat rooms, I heard Emily speaking with a depth of true understanding about the mindset side of fertility. Then as Emily and I were on such a similar wavelength, we shared many chat rooms on Clubhouse. More recently I was a guest on her brilliant podcast IVF This. And now here we are, continuing our chat on my podcast now about all things mindset! I really loved where this conversation took us, exploring the difference between happiness and mindset, and why it’s more important to work on mindset.
Here’s what is included in this episode:
- How Emily discovered her thoughts were making the experience of infertility even more difficult.
- The effect of the ‘giant spotlight’ that fertility issues shine on us in how we think.
- Why the way our minds are wired is not suited to the nuances of a fertility journey.
- What is important to remember when you have thoughts about failing or being a failure.

EP 075: Pursuing motherhood through menopause with Kate Codrington
Thursday Dec 08, 2022
Thursday Dec 08, 2022
On the podcast today, I’m talking with Kate Codrington about her new book Second Spring and her passion for supporting women before, during and after menopause. You may wonder what place menopause has on a fertility podcast. But with more women trying for babies when they are peri or post-menopausal, often with donor treatment, I believe it’s important to have these conversations.
Kate has always been a passionate supporter and advocate for women, and her new book, Second Spring, has a really refreshing focus on self-care through menopause. I was so pleased that Kate was up for this conversation, which I believe really needs to be happening for everyone who is trying for a baby at this time in their lives.
Kate will also be joining us in the Fertile Mindset Sanctuary for a live chat with our members. If you’re not a member yet, then we’d love you to join us for this chat with Kate and also to plug into lots of amazing support for the emotional aspects of fertility. Thursday Dec 01, 2022
I’ve spoken with Maria before on her podcast and we had such a great conversation that it planted the seeds in my imagination for this podcast to be created. Now on our 74th episode, I’m welcoming Dr Maria Rothenburger who is a fertility counsellor, coach, best-selling author and intuitive. In this episode, you’ll hear about her own path to parenthood and the journey this took her on both in her own life and in the way she supports others in her work. I really loved the perspective Maria brought to the more spiritual side of fertility, from her science-based background and training, and I hope you love listening in too.
Maria will also be joining us in my private membership group, the Fertile Mindset Sanctuary, to continue this interesting conversation. If you’re already a member, do look out for your invite to the live chat with Maria. And if you’re not yet a member of the Sanctuary, do come over and join us. Thursday Nov 24, 2022
We’re back with a brand new series of the Fertile Mindset Podcast! There are eight very special episodes ahead for you with some amazing guests that I can’t wait for you to meet. First up today is Nat Kringoudis who is a best-selling author, podcast host, and women’s health and natural fertility practitioner. At her natural health clinic, The Pagoda Tree in Melbourne, Australia she has helped over 20,000 women rescue their hormones and reclaim their best life.
I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing Nat several times before, when she shared her extensive knowledge about natural fertility, hormones and women’s health, but this time I got to do a deep dive with Nat into the mindset aspects of fertility. It was fascinating to hear Nat’s insights into the importance of mindset and how this has evolved the support she gives in her clinic.
Nat will also be joining us in the Fertile Mindset Sanctuary for a live chat next week, so if you’re a member do look out for your invite. And if you’re not yet a member and you’d like to join us you can at: www.fertilemindset.com/sanctuary. And now, I hope you enjoy listening to our podcast chat.
Here’s what is included in this episode:
- What Nat realised was missing in her patient consultations and what she now focuses on when addressing fertility and health challenges.
- A clever way to handle other people’s beliefs and not to take them on as your own.
- Why we need to create space and lightness around our medical diagnoses and challenges.
- Nat’s fresh perspective on age in relation to fertility and thoughts around conceiving at a later age.

Jo is so warm and caring in her approach to fertility support,, and I know you’re going to love listening to our chat.
