On Friday night, Indiana flipped the recent script. The Hoosiers roared out of the gates against Maryland, but then fell flat in the middle. Romeo Langford's late scoring outburst almost brought Indiana all the way back, but it wasn't enough as the Hoosiers dropped their second game in a row.
After the game, our crew broke it all down on a feisty edition of The Assembly Call IU Postgame Show.
On the mics: Jerod, Andy, and Ryan
Among the topics discussed:
— Why Romeo's improving three-point shot and ever-increasing assertiveness is a great sign for Indiana moving forward.
— Should Romeo and Juwan be even more assertive on offense? And are they even partially responsible for Maryland's big runs because they weren't assertive enough?
— The importance of Rob and De'Ron returning to action, even if they weren't able to give Indiana much tonight.
— Indiana's bench, yet again, was mostly a non-factor, and we desperately try to figure out what the solution might be.
— So ... did Devonte Green have a good game or a bad one?
— Putting this game into the larger context of what it means for Indiana, and why Monday at home v Nebraska is so important.
We also point out a few meaningful moments you may have missed, go inside the numbers, and hand out our game balls. All of that, and more, on this edition of The Assembly Call.
