Hot, Humid & Dry w/Heat Advisories East of Hwy 25 Today through Friday; Some Evening Storm Chances Over The Weekend & Early Next Week
The dome high-pressure out west will move over the High Plains the next several days and will warm afternoon high temperatures into the upper 90’s and low 100’s. With dewpoints in the 60’s locations mainly east of Highway 25 may see heat indexes approaching the 105-degree advisory levels. Afternoon high records are in the 105 to 110 range. Also, with higher humidity and light winds patchy fog in the mornings can be expected, while subsidence from the high pressure directly over the area will keep us dry and monsoon rains stay out in west and southwest U.S. High pressure ridge starts to weaken over the weekend, resulting in a return to more zonal and northwest flow over the Rockies. This will bring a chance for some evening or overnight storms with pieces of energy from the west.
