Changing Times Ag WX; Summer Heat & Dryness For Most Leading to Labor Day; Some Chances For Scattered Rain North & West 3 Corners
The Tri-state area on the remains situated on the northwest periphery of an expansive ridge over the southern Plains and Mississippi Valley and at the far southern fringe of the mid latitude westerly Jet flow. This pattern will continue the hot daytime temperatures in the mid to upper 90’s through Friday and Saturday and it will likely remain mostly dry for many. However, places near the three Corners and north and west have numerous chances for late day and evening isolated and scattered storm chances being so close to the mid latitude westerlies and storm track out of the Intermountain West into the Northern Plains. Thursday and Friday the again Saturday and Sunday upper-level troughs and systems taking this track will swing frontal boundaries through the area increasing the scattered shower and storm chances for locations to north and west, especially in NE Colorado and SW Nebraska. The stronger cold front on Sunday will bring them back into the upper 80’s and lower 90’s to end the weekend and start the extended forecast for next week.
