Episode 3 - The Sexist State

In this episode viki and anna marie talk about the second chapter of Feminism, Interrupted by Lola Olufemi. 

They discuss women who are murdered by the state and prison system in england & wales and in scotland, how that kind of violence is covered up by the state,  as well as using feminism to make the world into a place we want to live in.

They also talk about police violence against women, in particular Sarah Everard’s murder (this was recorded in july 2021 soo before a lot of updates) and the clapham common vigil in response to it.  

The episode ends with a brief discussion on practical ways to resist, such as direct action, professing love for Sisters Uncut and a list of suggestions on how to stop sexual violence from the 1970s zine Open letter to the anti-rape movement. 

Content warning throughout the whole episode of discussions of state and sexual violence, including prisons and police brutality.
