The week between Palm Sunday and Easter is an incredibly dense week, theologically, for Christians. Nearly half of John’s gospel, for example is dedicated to this week, sometimes referred to as Passion Week. Various traditions of Christianity mark the week differently, noting the things that Jesus did in Jerusalem leading up to his confrontation with the Elders, the Chief Priests, Herod and Pilate ahead of his trial and crucifixion on Good Friday.
This week, we’re going to have a daily lectio divina, late each morning, guided at giving each of us a mid-day break as a time for prayer, reflection and meditation on both the historical story of Jesus of Nazareth, and devotionally what that can mean for us today.
