Stories of Racism - Samar’s Story

Samar was born and grew up in Lebanon to a Sudanese father and an Egyptian mother and says she is a "Lebanese girl in a Sudanese body".

Born during the Civil war in Lebanon, Samar moved to Qatar in her University years with her parents and then moved to Australia with her husband as skilled migrants.

Samar's story of Racism begins as a child in Lebanon through to her adult life in Australia, not being accepted because of her dark complexion in Lebanon and but also not being accepted by the Sudanese community because of her accent,  but she has high hopes for her children and the future.
