The Collective Wisdom Podcast with Cat Preston
Arts:Visual Arts
Hey there, my wise friends and a warm welcome to another episode of Collective Wisdom. I don't know about you, but when I listen to the news at the moment, it can feel as if we're in a perpetual state of crisis. And the problems in the world are slightly out of proportion with the solutions. But I'm also aware, probably thanks to the pandemic that out of any crisis can emerge new and incredible opportunities, particularly if traditional approaches and paradigms are questioned and challenged.
It's true, it can be really hard, finding the gift in some of the dark times or the challenging moments we have to live through. But they can often make us stronger or even go on to become a source of gratitude.
And that is certainly true of my guest today. Jo Brownlow has had to live through some really challenging health issues, not just herself, but also watching her son really suffer, which is never easy. As you'll hear though, Jo has not only been able to overcome the crisis, but it has emerged as someone who has embraced a whole new approach to life and gone on to train as a functional medicine practitioner herself. So, if you or someone in your family is going through a particularly tough time at the moment, I do hope that hearing Jo's story will bring you some comfort in knowing that there will be light at the end of that long dark tunnel.
