Originally called Georgia State Lunatic, Idiot, and Epileptic Asylum, Central State Hospital was once home to more than 12,000 patients and was the state’s largest facility for treatment of mental illness and developmental disabilities. It is now a ghost-town of dilapidated buildings, each housing its sad, dark history.
