What the Miracles of Jesus teach us about healing episode 1: He's the same today
Acts 10:34-35 “And Peter opened his mouth and said: Most certainly and thoroughly I now perceive and understand that God shows no partiality and is no respecter of persons, But in every nation he who venerates and has a reverential fear for God, treating Him with worshipful obedience and living uprightly, is acceptable to Him and sure of being received and welcomed [by Him].”
It is so common for people to filter the Word of God through their experience. We may read a passage of Scripture that we don’t understand, or we haven’t experienced in our personal lives, so instead of raising our beliefs to what God’s Word says, we change it to match our experience.
However, where the victory lies is in believing what God’s Word says no matter what we have experienced or what others have experienced.
When Peter saw that the Holy Spirit came upon the Gentiles, too, he understood that God is truly no respecter of persons. God’s Word is the truth and all of His promises are available to anyone who would simply believe it.
This is true for all of God’s promises, whether healing, provision, restoration, relationships, or emotional and mental healing. God’s promises are true and available to all who would believe!
We can look at people’s lives who have amazing testimonies and stand in awe of what God has done in their lives, and it can be easy to think that they’re that “blessed person” who God chose to heal that day, but truthfully, God’s healing is available to anyone who would choose to believe Him. We can’t allow our feelings and experiences to determine if God’s Word is true or not; we have to be the ones who see His promises and rejoice that they belong to us because Jesus has paid it all on the cross!
The way Jesus lived on the earth, healing all those who came to him in faith, He is still the same today because He is the same yesterday, today and forever!
We have a good God!
