This transition from slavery to sonship is marked by the Holy Spirit's indwelling, which assures believers of their relationship with God, allowing them to cry out "Abba, Father" in intimate trust. Paul urges the Galatians to reject legalism and remain in the freedom of grace, as their inheritance in Christ is secure not by works, but by God's grace. True spiritual growth comes from living by faith, not reverting to bondage under the law.
