Renowned veterinarian and rehabilitation practitioner, Dr Siobhan Menzies takes us on a wonderfully entertaining and informative journey in this episode. We dive deep into the anatomy and physiology of the myofascial system in animals. The pathophysiology of chronic pain is also explored in some detail. Therapies such as acupuncture are explained and elucidated. It was a pleasure and educational experience to host Siobhan on the show.

Siobhan Menzies graduated from the Royal [Dick] School of Veterinary Studies in 1990. She holds a CCRP (Canine Certified Rehabilitation Practitioner - a RACE-approved university qualification in canine rehabilitation) and a GP Certificate in Western Veterinary Acupuncture and Chronic Pain.
In 2003 she established HolisticPet, Northern Ireland’s first veterinary pain management and rehabilitation practice. HolisticPet now offers veterinary-led pain management clinics in Northern Ireland, Kent and East Sussex.
Siobhan is a member of the VOA clinical panel and regulatory group. She has prepared a practical course on physical rehabilitation techniques for the veterinary profession, which is available via Longview CPD, and she is also working with CAM (Canine Arthritis Management) to prepare an educational course for canine professionals. She is passionate about pain management in small animals and continues her studies into all aspects of multimodal analgesia.
